How to read this blog

Privacy is the right of an individual to control their personal information.

This blog is about privacy. Nothing more, nothing less.

A common misconception these days seems to be that a phone, messenger or an entire operating system could be “private” – they cannot. A conversation in and of itself, regardless of whether held in person or through an encrypted channel of your choice, cannot be private either. No content, information or data you ever share with anyone can be private, ever. Despite related – and sometimes even mutually depended – privacy is not the same as security or confidentiality. They are different from another. And because they are, they should be approached differently as well.

With that being said, unless directly serving the purpose of privacy, other related topics will not be discussed on this blog.

This blog discusses, and advocates every individual’s right to privacy and considers executing this right wherever possible an act of self-determination in the collective struggle to achieving freedom.


MANIFESTO
Part I : The paradigm. Or: Aristotle, the Libertarian

In his work The Nicomachean Ethics, ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle declares that any meaningful discussion on how to live a good life, would have to lead to a discussion of Politics: and Politics (or, more precisely – Πολιτικά/Politiká), meant everything what concerns/is of concern to the Polis; with “Polis” meaning both, the ideal/idealized social/societal order, as well as the actual city-state as a governing body in Ancient Greece at the time. Implicitly, everything not considered as matter to or of the Polis, would be referred to as Oikos/Oἶκος, translating to ‘house’ or ‘household’ and again meaning both, the actual house as well as the social order by which the people living inside the house interacted
